Watermelon Cocktails: Phase 2 (right here’s section 1 together with my Watermelon Margarita recipe and the way I were given in this watermelon drink kick a couple of weeks in the past.)
So, the mojito is vintage Cuban cocktail made up of white rum, sugar, mint, lime and seltzer. A divine bevvie all over the warmth of summer season needless to say. I made this one as a result of I sought after another choice for many who aren’t keen on tequila (there’s regularly a no longer too delightful tale that is going at the side of individuals who fall into that staff.)
This proved to be any other watermelon cocktail winner. Since the watermelon is so candy naturally, I skipped including the straightforward sugar syrup. That you must simply make this with another fruit juice – like The Highly spiced RD’s Cantaloupe Mojito (EA posted this simply days prior to my watermelon model, which I like as a result of regularly we’re at the similar meals “kick” on the similar time! To not point out, she has wonderful recipes on her weblog – all gluten-free.)
- 3/4 cup watermelon juice (pureed and strained)
- 5 mint leaves
- Juice from 1/2 of a lime
- 1.5 oz. white rum
- 1/4 cup seltzer or glowing water
- Mint sprigs
- Pour about 2 tablespoons of watermelon juice into a pitcher. Upload mint leaves and clutter the mint (press down with a muddler or a spoon) till the leaves are somewhat bruised. Upload ultimate watermelon juice, lime juice and rum. Most sensible off with seltzer and serve with a spring of mint, if desired.
Notes
I discovered that an enormous watermelon yields about 10 1/2 cups of strained watermelon juice.
